Firstly what if a player cooperates with another player while they want to achieve a certain goal in the game. Both points are opposite of each other on the graph. It wouldn't fix the graph if we positioned the points differently either because, then different combinations wouldn't work anymore with the graph. Another example would be a team battle game where you have to cooperate to compete with the other team. So i guess it would work better if we had a 1D graph for every motivation. Bartles taxonomie of players also struggles with this id say. No?

You can have multiple motivation coordinates on the map; games don't need to have only one motivation present.
